You Get What You Get...and You Don't Throw A Fit...

So these are Faith's words of wisdom.  She was putting stickers all over my shirt and I kindly said to her that I only needed one and her reply was ..."You get what you get and you don't throw a fit"...lol.  I guess this is true.

Fruit snacks for breakfast...

So, life can get pretty routine around here..usually the same thing every day with exception of the weekends...I have found that while Adam is away...Faith and I have our routine...although it is rather quiet without him here.  Her new thing is that when she wants something...she will tell me its ok becuase Daddy isn't here.  For example, she wanted fruit snacks for Breakfast...my response was no...that is not healthy and it is not a breakfast food.  Her reply "but Daddy is not here".  Lol...I told her she was right, he was not here, but that doesn't mean she gets to have fruit snacks for breakfast.  Good try kiddo.

My Two Cents...

Guess I have decided that I want to blog.  I don't know what I will blog about, but I am just going to try this out and see where I go with it.

So what's new with the Lohn family.  Well, Adam is away at NCO Academy.  Meanwhile, Faith and I are home keeping things running.  Usually when Adam is away, I quickly realize all he does around the house.  I tried unsuccessfully to hang a curtain rod...guess it will have to wait until he is home.  I couldn't get the wall anchor in.  I do know how to use a drill! Lol...I mowed the yard today (which I don't mind) but I also had to weed eat as well (which is usually what Adam does).  Anyway, I have gotten the urge to move all the furniture around.  So Faith and I did some rearranging which seemed to be successful.  I cleaned the car.  I did lots of laundry...but I guess this is a rather boring discussion....

Ok..so I work at the VA.  This last Friday and World War II vet came in the office.  He has such a cool personality.  He was 90+ years old and he excitedly told me he had just gotten a job somewhere.  I asked why he was still working and he said if he stopped working he would die.  Literally.  He then laughed...he told me some of his old war stories about fighting in the pacific...  It is amazing to me that we don't take more time to listen to these hero's and learn all we can from them.  He seemed to have life figured out.  He was such an interesting man!!  He is supposed to stop back in Monday, and I am looking forward to his visit. As I reflect on my conversation with him  I realize that I am always trying to learn from others.  So what did I learn from this man??  I guess I learned that hard work keeps one happy and healthy.  I think I also learned to keep things in perspective. So, that's my two cents for today...

Well, I guess that is my blog for today...thanks for stopping by :)
